During a livestream on June 6, Megan — member of the multinational girl group KATSEYE — boldly came out as bisexual. “I want to come out. I’m bisexual,” she stated confidently, ending months of fan speculation. 

The moment instantly went viral, not just for the reveal, but for what it represents. Megan is now the second openly bisexual member in KATSEYE, following Lara, who came out back in March on Weverse.

Let’s be real — K-pop idols have always played it safe when it comes to sexuality, mostly because of harsh backlash from conservative netizens.

But Megan and Lara? They’re part of a new era. It helps that KATSEYE is aimed at the U.S. market, not Korea, so they’re clearly less restricted by traditional K-pop industry standards. HYBE and UMG knew what they were doing when they created a group like this — global, inclusive, and unbothered by outdated expectations.
